The Orono-Veazie Water District was created in 1976 as a non-profit corporation to serve water users in Orono and Veazie. It is governed by the Maine Public Utilities Commission. The OVWD has a board of trustees made up of five residents from Orono and Veazie, and a staff of five that runs the treatment plant and deals with daily operations.
We are not a private company or a government agency. You, the water users of Orono and Veazie, are our shareholders, and making sure that we all have a secure, plentiful, quality water supply is our only interest.
